Thank you, American Mainstream! Thank you for ruining one of the greatest, most beloved series of all time! go fuck yourselves netflix

Did Netflix discover anime recently or something? I have been seeing a bunch of anime related announcements related to it.

Pretty much. The rise of ironic weebs has raised awareness to big corporations of the untapped market of anime in the west. It truly is the end of anime. Only moeshit and isekai will be produced from here on out.

Didn't someone link this e-celeb wannabe in another thread? Could you stop doing that? Just link the damn article, I don't want to give some faggy jewtuber my views and it's annoying to hear his unfunny warmie jokes and continuously stating the obvious, even if I agree with him.
http://splashreport.com/cowboy-bebop-story-details/
It seems like it's just stupid and I doubt anyone who genuinely likes anime will watch it anyways.
>Jet Black in this show is black
I really don't care because I've always liked black cop characters, but I seriously doubt they'll stop at making him black. There will no doubt be some sort of political commentary shoved in.
>>2604
Yes but it's good entry level toonami shit, really comfy stuff. I think that the problem is that the english dub was so good. If it wasn't then it wouldn't be nearly as popular with warmieshits. Although admittedly it was one of the animes that got me into anime, along with Death Note, so even though I can see why people think it's kind of entry level I still enjoy it. It's pretty comfy to watch them all float around in their spaceships and do shit like trip on shrooms.

Fucking horrendous. On top of that, they'll remove any of the more outlandish ideas and try keep it more 'grounded'.

The original series will certainly be more realistic than this.

I was referring more to locations and characters, but they'll definitely try to ground it. Remember the episode with the fat bloke in a top hat that can fly? The episode where they all trip out on mushrooms? All the wacky episodes will be switched in favour of more 'serious' episodes.

  No. 2610

I think they're doing another live action anime as well right? not sure which though.
Ultimately the answer is to act like they don't exist, and to remember most things created by netflix are garbage.
>>2604
True but still likable if you are addicted to sci-fi shit.

They knew about harem shit for a long time because that's all they had until the last few years.

Well that's sad. I should have known it was over when I started to see Tyrones wearing anime t shirts and Naruto headbands in public, but I simply shrugged this off as another passing fad (sort of like when they were all wearing Metallica and Iron Maiden t shirts for about a year). First normalfags ruined video games, then internet memes, and now they are going to (at least try to) ruin anime. Why can't they all just stick to their own shitty hobbies instead of ruining ours?
>Isekai
That genre is popular? The only Isekai series I have seen is No Game No Life and that never took off with warmies due to the amount of loli fanservice.

  No. 2613

>>2611
Nevermind, the op for No Game No Life has 84 million views on YouTube. That's upsetting.
>>2610
No, but Evangelion is coming to Netflix. Just when you thought the fanbase for that Anime couldn't get any worse with all the pretentious emo kids, your going to have your average image obsessed teenage girl watching it now.

>Why can't they all just stick to their own shitty hobbies instead of ruining ours?
Normalfilth have a pathological need for attention, and they can get lots of it by liking something that isn't mainstream. People like us don't talk about our hobbies outside of places like here, so normalcattle flock to them in order to get this untapped source of attention. They're also brought up to believe they're all unique like fuck they are, and so by liking something that isn't mainstream, it show's that they're 'unique'. They're nothing more than a disease that eventually kills it's host, before moving onto something else.

I used to think Japan wouldn't bow to the whims of the west (look at how they laughed off the UN's request). Then I saw this: https://t.co/44IrgIQpV2. Looks like they found a way.

Well shit. I know that it's not the worst thing that could happen, taking out pointless sexy bits, but it's certainly going to lead to more shitty lefty garbage shoved in. There's no way to explain this kind of thing besides as a slippery slope. The beginning of the end, I suppose.

See you later, space cowboy.

Exactly. It seems as though people on Wizchan don't understand this (I don't know why I even wasted my time on that site) and simply accused me of succubi worship. Allow me to remind everyone what happened before:
Normalfags: "OMG I love video games! The cake is a lie right fellow gamers xDDD"
Also Normalfags: "Aaaw, these games are too haaard. Make everything a first or third person shooter and then my pea brain will understand it"

Normalfags: "OMG I love comic books! I'm such a nerd xDD"
Also normalfags: "These characters aren't diverse enough. Make Thor a black disabled trans woman now!!! D:<"

Normalfags: "I love memes. They're so quriky and random XD"
Also Normalfags: "Let's repeat the same joke over and over and call it a meme! Drink bleach! haha we're so edgy!"

And now (sadly) the same thing is going to happen to our precious animus. >>2605 seems to think that moeshit will be shoved down our throats but I personally think we will see a rapid decrease in moeshit because normalfags think it "encourages pedophilia". Hell, part of the reason Miss Kobayshi's Dragon Maid got popular was not because people liked it, but because everyone was making fun of the lolicon elements in one scene. Anyways, that's just the reality of things now sadly.
It all returns to nothing. It just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down

>Make Thor a black disabled trans woman now!!! D:<
They actually did make Thor a woman. I'm a comic-reading fag so that pissed me off quite a bit. I don't even mind the concept (they've done the gender swap thing in the past and it worked out fine, mostly because the original characters weren't replaced) but what gets me is that they made her take his name. Thor isn't a title, it's his fucking name. I get it when Falcon becomes Captain America, that makes sense to me, as Captain America is a TITLE, but these feminist shits gave girl-Thor his fucking NAME. That's the stupidest shit imaginable. At least we got the Unworthy Thor comic out of it which is pretty good and has consistently good art (although I rarely get it anymore as I don't go to my lcs much anymore).
Also, if anyone needs a recommendation of a supplemental medium now that anime looks like it'll go down the shitter sooner rather than later, comic books have known who their audience was for way longer than they should have. Normalfags took way longer to take them over than any other medium. From what I can tell, all the great animes were made in the 80s and 90s, and some in the early 2000s. Not to say that there are no good ones left to be made, just that they're being produced with progressively less quality. Same with video games. Comic books on the other hand have been produced at a large scale since the 20s, and got really great in the 60s, and were only really taken over by normalfags in the 90s, and hell, there was still great stuff to come out of the 90s that while marketed towards normalfags can still be enjoyed by lizards.

Spawn immediately comes to mind as a lizard tier book made for normalfags. And the Walking Dead was made in the early 2000s and it's still been good, even though it's made for normalfags. But disregarding Image comics, there's decades of good Spider-man comics, Silver Surfer comics, and others all marketed towards the average lonely comic book nerds from the 60s to the early 90s. So while it doesn't look like we'll have many more great comic books made for a while, it's certainly got plenty of stuff to dig through, and lots of comics can be found for free online, or if they were any good they're likely to be in a compilation like the "essential" collections that I read as a kid (which is what introduced me to Spider-man comics and Hulk comics and all of that.
Also has anyone else noticed the increase in superhero/western-ey animes? Stuff like One Punch Man and My Hero Academia. I like superheroes as much as the next guy, more actually, but I've never liked these shitty jap ripoffs of superheroes. Japan should stick to Japanese stuff, I watch anime to see something different from the comics I read all the time. My little brother has been watching those two recently and I don't know how to get him to stop. He's 15 so I assume he isn't beyond saving but I keep telling him his taste is shit and he should watch something else but he won't change his mind about them. I tried showing him the animes that I started with (Cowboy Bebop and Death Note, shit taste I know but these were the first animes I watched besides Pokemon and DBZ) but he just said they were "okay" and went straight on back to watching My Hero Academia. I'm at a loss for what to do, lizzes, is he beyond saving?

>Also has anyone else noticed the increase in superhero/western-ey animes? Stuff like One Punch Man and My Hero Academia.
Manga writers are starting to see that the west is beginning to enjoy their anime. So I think these people found that if they combine capeshit with anime, they will tap a huge western audience and it worked.
>is he beyond saving?
Probably. I watched Cowboy Bebop when I was 14 and was hooked within the first two episodes. So to hear that this kid said it was "okay" is not a good sign imo. But I could be wrong.

You want to know a fanbase that hasn't gone to shit yet? The Touhou fanbase. Seriously, go to any youtube video involving Touhou gameplay and scroll down to the comment section. Everyone is just as passionate about the game as they were in the early 2000's. Sure, there are a couple of ironic weebs that use Touhou reaction images but that's about where it ends. Not only that, but there are still plenty of Touhou fan sites that are still running and writing fan fiction and such. It honestly brings a tear to my eye to see this. Beautiful.

>I like superheroes as much as the next guy, more actually, but I've never liked these shitty jap ripoffs of superheroes
Funny, I feel the exact opposite. Jap superhero tributes usually feel much better to me than most american superhero comics. The aesthetic feeling of japanese construction/ink-ink heavy manga often feels much better to me than the clusterfuck of coloring and inking techniques that American comics have ended up with.

Then again, I never really liked superhero comics (though the late 90s cartoons like batman and spiderman were good). I was raised on the pre-Comics Code Authority type comics. Pulpy, lascivious, horror, sci-fi, and Weird-fiction types. Always felt that the superhero stuff was only popular because the good stuff was censored and suppressed. If it weren't for euro comics like metal hurlant or underground comics like Zap Comics I'd probably only read manga.

Though speaking of normalfag pandering, the underground/alternative comics scene has gone to shit these last few years. It was always full of edgy shit to be sure, but at least it felt like it was intended for a specific and intimate audience. These days most indie comics are SJW/minority pandering or ripoffs of popular crap with a small twist. Shit sucks.

>the underground/alternative comics scene has gone to shit these last few years
It's worse when it comes to movies imo. I remember recently seeing an "underground" horror film and it was nothing more than shocking the audience with themes of gore and school shootings. It wasn't bad per say, but it was trying too hard.

I just read through The Walking Dead again because posting about it made me realize that I haven't read it in a few years and I have to say, never mind what I said here about it unless you're going to avoid anything post-2014ish. It's really good for the first hundred thirty or so issues but then it gets more and more pozzed after they beat Negan and make a stable society. The gay characters will probably outnumber the straight ones eventually and they made the only female that wasn't an unfaithful whore fuck some dickhead after her husband had been dead long enough for her to feel "happy". It really sucked too, when all the other people were being cheating degenerates she'd stick with her husband the entire time. Their whole character was that they were always fucking but it was never with someone else while everyone else was fucking behind everyone else's backs. Then after he died she made a point not to fuck another dude for YEARS. Literally the only female character that I felt any respect for in that regard, even if she did practically use him like a dildo in the start. Guess that can go out the fucking window though, who gives a shit? Gurl power amiright?

In one of the more recent issues there were these two characters that were bragging to each other about how much sex they've had, it felt especially preachy like, "look at us normal adults, we fuck anything that breathes. That's so 'adult-like' iisn't it fellow adult?"I'm a bit suspicious of this one because if you've ever seen Robert Kirkman it looks like he couldn't get a gf unless he was rich from the tv show and games and shit. There was always sex and faggots and whatnot but that always felt secondary to the plot/killing zombies/defending themselves from crazy fuckers. It wasn't at an unbearable level before, now it's just a fucking soap opera with the occasional death and zombie shit. I enjoyed it because it was about a father trying to keep his son safe (that's what initially drew me to the comic as a teen), but now it feels like that's taken care of and Kirkman needs to shove his gay/degenerate propaganda into every page. I'm probably going to keep up with it again for a while anyways, the good stuff is still good. Negan is still a great character, and the death of Andrea felt well done, it's a shame that every other character is a fag now because there is good stuff in here. But I'm not going to pay for it, the fag shit on every god damned page makes it not worth having a paper copy, and I can't recommend it to anyone that can't stand this type of faggy shit. Seems I stopped reading it right when it got really bad, or I just have a better eye for this stuff now than I did when I was consistently reading the comic.

They draw them how they intend them to look, otherwise they would draw them differently.
