I guess I'm just not using modern sensebilities when considering ancient people's graves. Those guys actually had some dignity but in the modern day we wouldn't dare take that into account!
I think also that a sword wasn't normally a warrior's weapon but rather a sidearm, and a bow would've probably been used for hunting but I'm completely talking out of my ass with that.

What, do I need to punctuate every sentence about women with "by the way, I detest women like I detest diarrhea" just for your clarification? What's the point of pointing out that a lizard doesn't like warmies as if I was trying to keep it a secret? And even if I was pussyfooting around the subject of my hatred for the """fairer""" sex then it doesn't change what I wrote, which is that there's more reasons to explain a woman being buried with weapons than "she must've been a warrior!"

http://archive.today/T1fB9Its funny to me how the author tries to portray the main "bad guys" as what he sees as "toxic power hungry males" but they were the best ones in the whole story for me. Plus having a mc that does a dramatic personality change over a timeskip right after a major event is poor storytelling and I havent kept up with it since.
>>4180See what I wrote above dumbfuck. Having a timeskip right after a climax is not good storytelling. Having thorfinn turn into batman with muh I dont kill because Im a good guy now is not good character development either, but you wouldnt know that and probably think this is one of the greatest manga of all time when its just your average shonenshit with a nordcuck coat of paint slapped on.

>>4182The timeskip is used to juxtapose the new Thorfinn with the old one. Sure it's heavy handed and not subtle, but its still a literary device used to demonstrate the profound change Throfinn is undergoing. Of course you would be blind to literary devices even if it shoved its arse in your face. And no, I don't think this is the greatest manga of all time and it certainly isn't in my top 10, but it was still an interesting read.
>average shonenshitYou're stating the obvious, you drooling cretin. For someone who made a big scene of one of the mangaka's notes, you seem to be oblivious to the multiple times the mangaka has stated that Vinland Saga is meant to be an average shonen, with the only difference really being that the protagonist shuns violence.

4190
Can you niggers stop quibbling about the length of your arguments and just make some fucking arguments? As far as I'm concerned timeskips are shitty storytelling because it's unsatisfying to see a character change without going along with them, just so you can see how much they've changed in that time that you weren't seeing them change. I don't care about the fact that it's a literary device because it's a shitty one unless used properly. I haven't even read the manga I just can't justify using shitty storytelling unless it's justified by the plot, and I see no good arguments here to justify it. In fact I can't think of a single time when a timeskip would be justified in one story, only between sequels. And even then it's pretty annoying to see something like Luke go from barely lifting a rock to hypnotising people with his mind in the span of a credits sequence. At least then we have the benefit of knowing that it's a seperate story. Imagine if SW episodes 5 and 6 were the same movie and halfway through we got a short text scroll that said "and then Luke trained for a long long time on a planet far far away and he also made a green lightsaber". It'd be pretty unsatisfying wouldn't it? So if you're going to do a timeskip at least change the name to "Vinland Saga: Faggy Farmer".
The farming story could be excellent and engaging but I doubt it belongs in something that's set up a completely seperate tone, especially if the transition in tone is jarring.

>>4188>I win U lose neener neener XDWhat an excellent argument. Lucky for you that you're allowed to accuse someone else of having no fucking argument while you have none yourself beyond "everyone but me is a dum-dum r9k tiny-brained illiterate who doesn't understand that timeskips are the hottest literary device since stream of consciousness". Stop sniffing your own farts for a second and justify the mangaka's writing a shitty timeskip and whining about "man's history of power" to me. Because as far as I'm concerned you're the one who needs to justify these things and lizanon doesn't need to explain why shit stinks. As a cold-blooded lizard I already intuit that shitty literary devices and cucking to vaginas are both bad things. The lizanon you're arguing against might not have the best arguments but at least he's not a hypocrite about it.

>>4186 is just about how his whining is bad when you just spent the same two paragraphs whining about the opposite. Just because anon doesn't know what a paragraph is doesn't give you reason to harp on that one point. And don't think I'm excusing this shit
>>4185 because I'm not, but at least he's the one that's right for saying you're a pretentious cunt that has nothing to say beyond "butthurt lol". You're the fucking faggot that instigated the argument about the tyimeskip, then you complain that lizanon responded. Saying that he's mad because he used the same amount of text that you fucking did is the stupidest thing I've heard all day and I live in the same house as my mother. Quit trying to distract from your own lack of arguments by going "oh, you only like action and you're from /r9k/ and you took my bait and you wrote two paragraphs and you don't even know what paragraphs are and look at this gum stuck to my shoe interesting isn't it?". Also I could be wrong but a lizanon insulting another lizanon and then you immediately complimenting this insult seems pretty fishy to me.

>Timeskips are shitty storytellingI haven't defended timeskips at all, but rather the farm arc. Like I said earlier, I can see why a timeskip has been used but it is definitely crude.
>Doubt it belongs on something that's set up a completely separate toneThorfinn's pacifism has been implied throughout since the beginning of the manga; him becoming a pacifist in the farm arc is the natural way forward. His father,
all the way up until his death repeatedly told Thorfinn that he should shun weapons and violence and coupled with Leif's stories of Vinland and the running theme of most people just wanting a place to live free of war and violence, naturally manifests itself in the farm arc.
>>4191>No fucking argumentI do though, I've put it forward and he has yet to rebuke it
>Timeskips are the hottest literary deviceI've never said nor insinuated that, you stupid mong. I'll say it again so you can get it in your head - the timeskip used is a crude literary device and I haven't justified it. The only thing I'm justifying is the farm arc.
>Whining about "man's history of power">Cucking to vaginasI didn't justify the mangaka saying those things because I don't agree with it. Learn basic comprehension and reread my earlier posts and you'll see I never agreed with that.

Description;
>What is Lady Snowblood about? Vengeance. Pure and simple, this is a revenge story.Yuki was named as a child of hell by her mother. Yuki's father was killed by a group of men who conspired to use him to start an uprising; they then brutalized her mother. Her mother subsequently killed one of her attackers and ended up in jail, where Yuki is born. Yuki's mother was serving a life sentence; there was no way she could escape and continue her revenge. Consequently, she concocted a plan which included seducing the guards in order to produce a child who could pass beyond the prison walls.
Dying in childbirth, Yuki's mother impresses upon a friend the importance of imparting to her infant daughter the necessity of her revenge–the grudge that she could no longer carry, but which she passed to her daughter. The friend agrees to do so, and Yuki ("snow," so named for her snow-white skin) is trained to become the instrument of her mother's vengenace.
Twenty years later, Yuki is a skilled assassin. For the price of 1,000 yen she will perform murderous miracles, often proceeding through trickery, deceit, and the assumption that as a woman she poses as little threat to the criminals she is often dispatching.

That and no one wants to buy the new shit that Marvel keeps overshipping them.I gave up on western comic shops a long time ago, ever since they became "le nerd culture paraphernalia shop" instead of comic shops. The places are full of Deadpool masks and those "pop" things and they have maybe a wall and a few racks of comics. There's still boxes of back isues but at this point I'd rather just read them online than have to deal with the cunts that go in the shop, pick up a Deadpool hoodie, and leave and don't look at the comics once. It doesn't help that 99% of the comics these days are shit, and not even fun schlocky shit. Just shit.
Back when speculation was bigger than it is now, at least people could pretend it was about comics. Bright side is with piracy I don't have to think about it.
And yet I still think about it so maybe it doesn't matter beyond money.Just my uneducated two cents.

We're losing profit!!!" but the guy was cool headed and over time he got a lot of international fans due to some guy translating his shit, he then saw it as like a library/ 2nd hand book. He convinced his publisher to let some of his books go completely free online and he ended up making more than what he had before. Those types dont see the bigger picture and only see short term profit. Its kinda ironic that yids love shekels so much but repeatedly make the same stupid mistakes over and over again kvetching over lost pennies when they would make quite a bit more, were they more pragmatic.
